Paulton Rovers continue their busy fixture schedule when they welcome Oxfordshire outfit Kidlington to Winterfield Road on Saturday (kick-off 3 pm).
Kidlington, sat 10 points above Rovers in the league, come off the back of a 4 game losing streak in March will welcome back Tommy Castle and Conor McDonagh back to the squad, whilst Jack Quainton, Mark Janes, Tommy Franklin and Eddie Odhiambo all look set to miss out.
Rovers, without a goal in their last two league games (Bristol Manor Farm & Swindon Supermarine) will be looking to re-find their shooting boots and produce the same type of form that saw them pick up victories in March against Shortwood, Cinderford and Wellington scoring 11 goals along the way.
However, as confirmed by Manager John Rendell this week, they will need to do this without Camen Harvey who looks set for a long spell on the sidelines:
"Camen Harvey is out for what is likely to be for the rest of the season after damaging knee ligaments in last weeks semi final win against Wellington. I am disappointed for him as he had regained fitness levels and really started to play consistently well during the past few weeks. He is waiting on a scan and we hope the damage isn’t as bad as first feared"
In addition to Camen, the only other doubt surrounds James Byrne who is still recovering from an injury sustained against Cinderford. The rest of the squad all remain available.
Following on from Monday's game against Bristol Manor Farm where considerable damage was done to the pitch, staff, fans, 1st team players have all been volunteering their time in an effort to get the pitch ready for the game tomorrow, which didn't go unnoticed by John Rendell:
"The lads will train on Thursday evening and then lend a hand to Mike Filer and the grounds team, as they continue to work tirelessly on the pitch during this gruelling period we are all experiencing. I don’t ever recall such a consistently bad spell of bad weather that’s interrupted the footballing calendar so much!!
Credit must go to everyone that has helped out and especially Mike & Sophie (Secretary) who I know are completely snowed under trying to get the games in and also our pitch readily available!"
A huge thanks from the Club goes to everyone who has managed to spare any time this week and for anyone else interested or able to help, there will be a final session of preparation on Saturday morning from 9.30am - 11.30am.
See you all tomorrow!
