A new era begins at The Winterfield Stadium on Saturday as we open our campaign in the Jewson Western League Premier Division!

First up, we welcome Nailsea & Tickenham. Originally two separate sides, they came together in 2015 and were promoted to the Premier Division in the 2022/23 season and finishing 9th last season. We will be welcoming back Jack Fillingham who has had spells with Rovers in the past, most recently scoring the winning goal in the semi-final of the Somerset Cup two seasons ago.

If you have been following our pre-season you will be aware we had retained a number of players from last season and Ray Johnston has worked to bring in a number of new faces. Ray had this to say on our friendly schedule: "Pre-season has been ok, because the appointment was a little late, I believe we are a few weeks behind where I’d ideally have liked us in terms of nailing the shape down in training and maybe could have benefitted from one more game, but that said I cannot fault the lads application to the hard stuff running Saturday mornings, and the boring theory side that is necessary. We will hopefully combine a solid shape with attacking flair, which have been evident in patches in the games we’ve had. And hoping the lads can gel on and off the pitch quickly. "

We only have two players out through long term injury. Chris Peck has a broken foot and Martin Lenihan is also out after appendix surgery.

Lets get behind the lads from the off and push for that promotion back to The Southern League!
