We head to Worcestershire on Tuesday evening where we will meet Evesham Utd and we hope the weather is a bit kinder to us this time; the previous visit having been postponed just minutes before kick-off after torrential rain!
Our hosts will be a tough nut to crack. They currently sit 4th in the table on 40 points and are in a strong position to guarantee a play-off spot. Their form has been somewhat mixed in the last few weeks taking just two victories. The sequence is completed by three draws and one loss. The most recent result was a 2 - 0 win away at Bideford; another team looking to take a play-off spot.
At this late stage, this will be the first meeting of the teams this season; this game being the second rearranged date. Last season, Rovers lost 2-1 away at Evesham but back at The Winterfield Stadium, gained a 3-2 victory.
Saturday's 2 - 1 defeat at the hands of Bashley has seen us sink into further trouble but there were certainly lots of signs to be hopeful going forward with new signings, Milo Murgatroyd, Joe Hall and Theo Mara all gelled into the team quickly. The boss, Richard Fey, had this to say:
"After Saturday's disappointing result the lads worked so hard and felt hard done by. We can’t feel sorry for ourselves and tomorrow night travel to 4th place Evesham who are fancied to finish in the top 5 places come the end of the season. I’m hoping to get at least one new face in for tomorrow, if not two, but everyone is working hard to turn the results around."
Unfortunately, Sam Pashen joins David O'Hare on the sidelines for the rest of the season after his injury late on in Saturday's match. We wish them both all the best for their recoveries and hope they are back with us soon!
We'd love to see as many faces as possible with us on Tuesday evening!
