Our tough run of games continues on Saturday as we travel to Devon to take on the third play-off spot chasing team in a row in the shape of Bideford FC.
After draws with well placed Evesham and Bemerton Heath, Bideford will prove to be another tough test for Richard Fey's reinvigorated Rovers team. They currently sit in 6th spot in the table and just outside the play-off positions. They have been extremely strong all season and have been up and around the top end of the table since a slow start in the first couple of weeks.
Surprisingly then, their form has stuttered in the last few weeks and even sat on the bottom of the form guide until Tuesday evening's win over Exmouth. That 2-1 victory lifted them back off the bottom. The previous five games included four defeats (to high ranking opposition) and a 0 - 0 draw with Westbury.
Since Richard Fey returned to Rovers there has been a clear upswing in form from the side. A narrow defeat to Bashley was followed by draws with Evesham and Bemerton Heath. Both games showed that we have the fight to move up the table and out of the relegation spot. Goals from Ed Butcher and Dan Restorick saw us take a 2 - 0 victory in the corresponding fixture last season.
The boss had this to say on this weekend's game: "Another tough game Saturday against a team around the top six. Joycey has done an unbelievable job there and it will be tough but the lads are gaining more confidence after two great draws and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do at a tough place. David O'Hare and Sam Pashen remain out for the season but Dan Restorick and Dan Cottle return from holidays. Leighton Thomas remains suspended but we are pleased to announce new signing, Brad Norris, is added to the squad "
Brad is a striker with a wealth of experience in the Southern League and higher level having played for Bath City. Brad has also played for Larkhall, Yate, Melksham and Westbury. Welcome to Paulton Rovers, Brad!
There will be a coach for this fixture leaving the club at 10am. If you'd like to travel please leave your name on the list at the club. The fare is £12 for an adult, £6 for U16s.
