A healthy crowd turned out in the hot sun at Radstock to watch Radstock and Rovers play out a 0 - 0 draw. Both the manager, Ray Johnston, and a number of players were returning to the club they had left just weeks before and there was a good atmosphere around the game.
The heat played a part across the first half as both teams toiled to create chances. Not many came for either side however Rovers had the better but the Radstock keeper only really needed to make one decent save.
As with previous friendlies, there were a number of changes at half time and as the heat lessened, Rovers began to turn the screw. The vast majority of the second half was played in the Radstock half with Rovers creating a number of chances. However, they were unable to fashion a goal but were also rarely challenged in their own half and the game finished in a stale mate.
For the final preseason match, Bristol Rovers bring their U23s to The Winterfield Stadium on Tuesday evening where we hope for some more goals!
