Preview by Jon Green
Craig Loxton and John Durbin's Rovers head to Bishops Cleeve on Saturday for First Round Qualifying in the FA Trophy. This will be their first game since Bank Holiday Monday's win over, the then, leaders of the Southern League Division One Willand Rovers in a much improved performance. Confidence should be high and the team will be looking to build on that win with another against a team in their own league division.
Bishops Cleeve have had a mixed run of form so far this season recently losing their own league match with Willand, 4-0. But wins over Larkhall and Evesham mean they sit several places above Rovers in the table. They last played in the FA Cup on Saturday narrowly losing to Bristol Manor Farm despite a late comeback.
The teams met twice in the league last season with Cleeve coming out on top both times. Firstly with a very late goal to secure a 2-1 win at Kayte Lane and a 4-2 win at Winterfield Road. The squad will be hoping there is no repeat of these results!
Rovers welcome back David Slade after a knee injury and will again assess long term absentee, Dan McBeam, who has had a hamstring injury since pre-season.
