Paulton suffer a late defeat to local rivals Match report and photos from Ciaran Skinner

Paulton started well with Jake Curtis one on one with keeper Josh Matthews who put the ball out for throw in.

Welton took the lead from a rebound slotted past Sean Salter by Tyler Kingman.
Paulton looked to regain ground with Jake Curtis and Blaine Lawrence having chances saved. They then equalised in the 35th minute with Tyler Lane's cross meeting the head of Blaine Lawrence into the top left hand corner.

The home side then regained the initiative with Curtis and Lawrence having chances saved.

5 minutes before half time Lawrence put Rovers into the lead with Curtis cross being converted. He doubled the lead 3 minutes later as he ran past Matthews and slotted into an open goal to get his hatrick.

Ten minutes into the second half Welton got one back with James Rawlings heading past Salter.

They got their equalising goal in the 66th minute with Jacob Brooks Scully heading in.

5 minutes later they got their 4th with captain Brooks Scully again with a header

With five minutes to go Salter limped off injured after coming together with a Welton player and Ali Sen replaces him in goal for the last 9 minutes.

Welton score their final goal with Iwan Tudor striking the ball into the top left hand corner past Sen.

As well as a Somerset Floodlit Youth Match the game was played for the Bert West Cup. It is 25 years since the cup was first played for after being donated by the West Family. Bert West played for both club and was on Paulton Rovers committee when he died 26 years ago.
