Paulton Rovers Ladies progressed to the Women's Junior Cup Semi Finals following an entertaining 5-1 victory against Banwell Ladies on Writhlington Astro

The hosts started brightly and began creating numerous chances with some great attacking play. The impressive Eleri Webber finally broke the deadlock on 20 minutes as she shot across the keeper into the bottom corner from just inside the box. Ten minutes later Martha Slocombe added a second as she reacted quickest to a loose ball, confidently side-footing home. However, and to their credit, Banwell refused to give in and keeper Jones was called upon several times to see out the half.

The second half couldn't have started better as Alex Gwyther finished well within 2 minutes of the restart, latching onto a great pass by Beth Knight, but Banwell hit straight back when a free-kick to the back post was bundled in from close range to grab what proved a consolation
Enya Wilkinson grabbed a goal with ten minutes remaining following a brilliant solo run and the hardworking Alisha Stuart finally grabbed a well deserved goal late on.
